Εδώ και περίπου ένα χρόνο κυκλοφορεί ένα meme στο Facebook, το οποίο αναπαράγεται από τους χρήστες ως status update και στο οποίο οι χρήστες δηλώνουν 10 αγαπημένα βιβλία τα οποία έχουν επηρεάσει τη ζωή τους. Το meme περιέχει τα εξής (μεταφρασμένα):

«Καταγράψτε 10 βιβλία που σας έμειναν χαραγμένα στη μνήμη. Μη σας πάρει περισσότερο από μερικά λεπτά, και μη σκεφτείτε πολύ σκληρά. Δε χρειάζεται να είναι τα «σωστά» βιβλία ή μεγάλα έργα της λογοτεχνίας, μόνο αυτά που σας επηρέασαν με κάποιον τρόπο.»

Η ομάδα του Facebook σύλλεξε τα status updates του συγκεκριμένου meme για τις τελευταίες δύο εβδομάδες του Αυγούστου και κατέληξε στη λίστα με τα 100 αγαπημένα βιβλία τα οποία επηρέασαν περισσότερο τους χρήστες.

Μέσα από 130.000 status updates, η πλειονότητα των οποίων προέρχεται από τις ΗΠΑ (63.7%), από γυναίκες (αναλογία 3.1:1) και χρήστες 37 ετών, η λίστα έχει ως εξής:
